FAQs
What can I expect during a bodywork visit?
For your first visit, I ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes early so we can briefly go over your intake form and any relevant information. At the beginning of each session, I’ll check in with how you’re feeling that day and what you feel you need from the session, so the work can be tailored to your “today” body.
After we’ve discussed your goals, I will step out of the room while you get settled on the table. You are welcome to undress to your level of comfort. Undressing underwear can make it easier to work the low back and hips (and upper thighs for those wearing boxers), but you are always encouraged to dress in whatever feels appropriate for you. You will be respectfully draped throughout the session, with only the area being worked on uncovered at any time.
During your first session, I may check in more frequently so we can establish a comfortable baseline for pressure and communication. I always encourage you to speak up at any point if anything would help you feel more comfortable—this can include pressure, temperature, music volume, or anything else that comes up during the session.
So, I had a massage — now what?
After your session, it can be helpful to stay well hydrated over the next 24 hours. This supports your body’s natural recovery processes. Gentle movement—like walking or light stretching—is encouraged, while intense exercise is best avoided immediately afterward. A warm shower or bath can also help support relaxation and extend the effects of the session.
How often should I get massaged?
A general guideline is once per month. That said, frequency depends on your goals, schedule, and budget—some people come in more often for injury recovery or higher levels of tension, while others come in less frequently for general maintenance or relaxation.
Where are you located?
My massage studio is located on the second floor of Kismet Place on Blair Park Road in Williston, Vermont. It’s in the same building as The Scale, Sangha Yoga Studio, and ONTA Martial Arts Studio. There is an elevator available through the double doors, or you can take the stairs to the second floor and head right, past the Kids Rehab Gym. Kismet Collective is the door directly to the right of the yoga studio, and there is a waiting area right inside. Restrooms are located down the hall to the left of Sangha Yoga Studio.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept credit card, Venmo, cash, or check, though cash is preferred.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can find that, plus all of my other policies, listed here.
